Superintendent
At Bonsall Unified School District, we believe deeply in the potential of every student and in the power of a connected community to help that potential flourish. Guided by a student-centered vision, BUSD is committed to learning experiences that build confidence, resilience, and a strong belief in one’s ability to succeed.
Now in her second year as Superintendent, Dr. Heather Golly has led the launch of True North 2030, the District’s strategic roadmap aligning vision, values, and action. Rooted in the core values of Service, Innovation, Collaboration, and Integrity, this work focuses on student achievement, well-being, and meaningful partnerships that prepare learners for college, career, and life.
In our elementary and middle schools, students build strong foundations through rich experiences in music, arts, movement, and hands-on learning. Our state-of-the-art Bonsall Farm brings learning outdoors, where students explore agriculture, sustainability, and leadership. Adjacent to the farm, BUSD is developing a wellness butterfly garden that will offer a reflective space for students to observe nature in action while supporting social-emotional well-being.
At Bonsall High School, a small, close-knit environment ensures every student is known and supported. Recently launched Bonsall High School Academies provide distinct pathways that connect learning to real-world careers through focused coursework, field experiences, and authentic applications of learning. Students also benefit from Early College opportunities, earning college credit during the school day at no cost, alongside Career Technical Education, Advanced Placement courses, CIF athletics, and award-winning programs in the arts and academics.
With dedicated staff and strong family and community partnerships, BUSD blends innovative practice with a small-town heart. When students believe in themselves—and know their educators believe in them—they gain the confidence to achieve anything.
