At the Bonsall Union School District Board Meeting on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, Chairman Robert Smith, of the Pala Band of Mission Indians presented the Bonsall Board of Trustees and Superintendent, Dr. Justin Cunningham, a $140,000 donation. The donation was to provide curriculum as well as administrative support for Vivian Banks Charter School and Sullivan Middle School.

Dr. Cunningham thanked the tribe for their “generous wisdom, noting how valuable their supportive partnership was to the future of the Bonsall and Pala Communities. “ We are very grateful for this insightful gift from the Pala Band because they realize how interdependent great schools and great communities are”, Cunningham added.
