News & Announcements

BUSD Schools and District Office Closed Friday, February 15

no school

With continued flash flood warnings and unsafe road conditions, school is cancelled for tomorrow, Friday, February 15th. I very much appreciate the staff and parents working cooperatively today while students were being picked up. Please take your time on the roads and stay safe.

12 PM BUSD Weather Update

weather

Currently, the flash flood warning is in place until 12:15 PM. All BUSD schools will remain on the normal early dismissal time today, February 14th. We understand that road closures in Bonsall may occur, and parents are welcome to pick up children at your earliest convenience. After school care is in full operation.

At this time, there will be school tomorrow, February 15th, unless weather conditions warrant closing schools. We will provide updates as conditions warrant. The Pala bus routes are not operating today, however, all other bus routes are in operation. Please understand and expect that buses may be delayed.

We thank you for working with us to ensure the safety of our students, and please contact your school’s main office if you have any questions.

10AM BUSD Weather Update

weather

Dear BUSD Families,

Prior to the start of school this morning, there was not a flash flood warning in place and roads were open to and from each school with the exception of Vivian Banks. Vivian Banks is closed for today and we will provide parents and staff with an update as soon as possible regarding whether or not school will resume tomorrow.

At 8:55 AM this morning a flash flood warning was issued in the Bonsall area. We do not recommend that parents pick up their children from school at this time, and we plan to release students at the normal scheduled early release time at each school. The weather report indicates that the flash flood warning will likely be lifted at 11:45 AM. The District will send another update at 12 PM regarding any changes to release time. In the event that a flash flood warning is in place at dismissal time, we will most likely not release students from school until it is safe to do so.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call the main office of your child’s school.

Thank you,

David Jones
Superintendent
