ASES
Dear Parent(s),
We are pleased to announce that BUSD will continue to offer the ASES After-school Program for the 2021-2022 school year at Vivian Banks Charter School.
The goal of the ASES After-school Program is to fuse the core learning subjects such as English, math, and science with skills students need in typical 21st-century communities and workplaces.
To successfully face rigorous higher education coursework, career challenges, and a globally competitive workforce, we must align learning environments with real-world environment. We can do this by proving increased opportunities in Learning and Innovation, Self-Management Skills, as well as Information, Technology and Media.
We will do this by providing students:
- Enrichment opportunities that support creativity and innovation.
- Daily homework assistance that reinforces critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Opportunities for increased communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Health and nutrition through structured opportunities for physical education and development.
The ASES Club is funded through a state grant (ASES), there is no fee. The program operates everyday school is in session, from dismissal time until 6:00 pm. ASES is not a daycare. We have state grant requirements and local expectations for our student’s attendance and behavior in the program. The program follows the regular school calendar and is closed for school holidays and breaks. Early enrollment is highly recommended as space will fill up fast.
