Transition to Trustee Area Elections
The process, pursuant to Election Code Section 10010 subsections (a) (b) and (c), will be documented here.
- On October 11, 2018, Bonsall Unified School District Board of Trustees unanimously adopted a resolution to begin transitioning from Trustee-at-large to Trustee Area elections. (See file attached below)

On January 8, 2019, the Governing Board, by unanimous vote, formally adopted a resolution to transition to a by-trustee area election system and adopted Map Scenario 1 as the District’s trustee area plan. Prior to making its decision, the Governing Board held public meetings to review proposed maps and took comments from the community. Next, the Governing Board will submit a petition to the San Diego County Committee on School District Organization for review and approval.
