hello I'm Dr Heather golly proud interim superintendent of Bonzo Unified School District I'm here today in the original Bonzo schoolhouse a symbol of our communities enduring commitment to education since 1895 and here today in this historic building I'm reminded of the generations of Educators who came before us who each and every 1 of them believed in the potential of every student who walked through those doors today we carry that Legacy forward with our theme belong believe achieve and this year we're focusing in on what it means to truly believe in our students our staff and in our Collective power to impact positively the lives of our students just as this Full House has stood the test of time our dedication to creating incredible learning environments for our students remain steady from this single classroom to our modern classrooms the heart of our service Remains the Same nurturing a place where all students feel that they belong where we believe in their potential and where they can achieve their dreams together Educators staff families and community members we're writing the next chapter in our District's Rich history by embracing this theme we ignite a spark in each of our students our belief in their potential unlocks doors to extraordinary achievements when students know that they belong when they know that we believe in them there is no limit to what they can accomplish so let's take a look at some of the ways in which our students belong believe and achieve in Bonsall Unified School District every year for the first day of school I get so emotional with excitement building the relationships with my students seeing that spark when they first learned something and actually get it there's so many different things that I love about teaching she celebrates them and shows true joy in their success she encourages me to do harder math pushes me to do things that I want to follow my dreams this program really helped me for throughout that this is what I want to do next year I'm going into biology at UCLA the Bonza high school early college program has given a very easy way to access a college class while in high school it really opened up world of Education to me whatever I I know I try to share with the people if I can help I'm going to be there for you sometimes I get you know give them the space and what you need to do this and walk away or just encourage them you know come on I know you can do it parts of it and reinforcement there's a lot of connection they build to the students here that you can you can feel that they care they want to see you thrive here sometimes like homework but like that she gives us I love riding and she gives us a riding session so that's what I like the classroom feels like a community you don't go in there and you work alone it feels like you're doing it together I've always thought about going into the medical field and trying to become a doctor or a nurse subjects in which you can really put your creativity into I'm really into architecture because there are so many beautiful things that people out there have created for other people to enjoy particularly in Sciences in the medical field 1 day I hope to be a Civic engineer work on roads transportation those kind of things I'm interested in going to law right now for an occupation I would like to attend Air Force Academy it's known for having 1 of the best mechanical engineering programs and I want to become a fighter pilot I did not expect these results like going to the things I liked and I didn't expect I was going to get rewarded for it but I did and that motivates me more cuz it's really excited to be receiving an award for my academic accomplishments it makes me proud of myself I felt really appreciated and encouraged to do more I ended up graduating high school with 4.5 GPA which then got me into a tbsn program which only accepts 30 freshmen every year out of a few thousand applicants it's almost like feel the sounds cliche that I'm just witnessing Small Miracles throughout the day when I get the feedback from my students when I see them proud of themselves accomplishing things when they're telling me thank you Mrs Kennington you helped me achieve this seeing this file on their face and that confidence that they have in themselves that's when I know that I'm doing what I meant to be doing
